disAbility Resource Center (DRC) continues to actively monitor the information from health officials about the coronavirus (COVID-19).
We want to assure you that dRC is here for you. We are committed to providing information, support, and advocacy to our disability community. Our physical offices are closed, and staff are safely self-isolating, but we are working remotely, offering services by phone, virtual teleconferencing and email. Our weekly book club and peer support meetings continue to meet virtually with the option of calling in or using Zoom. If you need any assistance learning how to use Zoom, please contact us at 910-815-6618 to schedule a personal tutorial.

The mission of the disAbility Resource Center is to empower individuals with disabilities to become and maintain their independence in their communities.
We provide services to people of all ages and all types of disabilities living in the counties of New Hanover, Brunswick, Columbus, Onslow and Pender county.
Our Services
disAbility Resource Center staff members are here to serve you. Our goal is for individuals that self-identify as having a disability to access and live independently in the community of their choice. Our services for individuals living with disabilities are free.

Information and Referral
Advises individuals and families on where to go and how to get needed services, resources and information at all levels…locally, state and national resources.

Housing Advocacy & Moving Back into the Community
Our goal is to assist all our consumers to remain independent and live the best life they can.
We assist youth with disabilities in the transition from high school to adulthood and empower them to live more independently through advocacy...

Peer Support
Peer Support Staff serve as role models, as only someone with personal experience with disabilities can do.

Advocacy
Advocacy can be easily defined as an action that produces change. We provide advocacy at both the individual and systems level.

Independent Living Skills
We offer a range of information, resources, classes, and individual guidance to improve or enhance important daily life activities.
